Shogun was a Japanese military title for leaders of the samurai warrior nobility from the 12th century to the end of the Edo period. A shōgun initially corresponded approximately to a European duke and was only temporarily appointed to this position with special powers in emergencies. After the end of the Heian period, Minamoto Yoritomo managed to have this title hereditarily transferred to him by the emperor. The model here shows a samurai ready for battle, who is ideally suited as a shogun or daimyo.
The model is part of the Asian Adventures collection.
